Creating this album was like finding the eye of an inner storm, reconnecting with my inner child during a tumultuous, existential time. Most of the songs started as part of my lockdown song a day challenge. Many were inspired by your wonderful requests and none would exist without the love and support I felt from you during that time to keep writing.

I invite you to listen to them like a child listens to a lullaby, and find or create your own little stars too. I feel so lucky to be part of this beautiful, mind boggling galaxy with you.

Growing up in the Blue Mountains, nomadic singer songwriter Little Green, developed a sense of storytelling and musicality inspired by the nature around her. The self-taught musician plays flute, sax, guitar, piano, bass, and voice, noting she wrote songs from when she could speak as her way to process the world.

“When I was born, my dad trained me to have perfect pitch by putting a tuning (pitch) fork on my head, then a couple hours later asking me to sing an A. I think I lost it now though. He also taught me to recognise major, minor and diminished chords when I was a toddler then all the intervals when I was a bit older. So I was like his musical experiment. I wrote and recorded my first song when I was three years old and called it 'Bumble Bee', but that was pretty silly. My first proper song was called 'Golden Wings' which I wrote at around 13 years old. Then when my sister came along we would all sing and make music together.”

Little Green garnered attention across the globe by writing a song a day on social media during the lockdowns of 2021. 2022 has seen multiple songs added to triple j as the singer songwriter heads beyond 10 million+ streams online.

“The lyrics were inspired by a childhood memory of my sister, my cousin and I standing outside with umbrellas, waiting for the wind to take us somewhere magical, like in the movie Mary Poppins. I was reconnecting with a sense of innocence and hope, through writing this song, channelling that playful, dreamy energy we had as kids” - little green
